So what's the plan?

 

We will work together to:

1. Pray to God for direction to intervene and do our part to stop violence in all places at all times

2. We will build relationships with all non-extreme people to help each reject terrorism at the roots

3. We will learn about each other and find that we have more in common than we ever imagined

4. We will learn that there are more people of faith than terrorists

5. We will talk openly, but we will not proselytize or force our faith on others(to better understand each other, we are encouraged to share personal beliefs and priroties. However, politics and faith are not part of this public message and will not be debated by this group)

6. We will seek God to closely examine our own traditions and personal beliefs to identify the weakness and false beliefs that are common when facing adversity

7. We will help the poor and disenfranchised and interrupt generational cycles of hatred

8. We will work together in all ways that we can imagine to stop hate and the terrorism it spawns

 

Action Items

Immediately, reach out to all non-terrorist people of faith to reinforce this message:

• We will not be diverted by terrorist actions- We will not fear, we will trust God and we will return to our work, helping others, and living full and productive lives

• Start chat groups that reinforce this thinking

• Invite groups to your home or to meet at public venues

• Stay focused on stopping terrorism- We will not be distracted by politics or differences across faiths

• Encourage discussion as to what we can do locally and globally, to help others and pass the message of peace along the way

• Create and maintain a list of people who have fought hatred and terrorism

• Distribute this message far and wide- Use every public and private channel that we can reach

 

 

Let Everyone Proclaim:

God is not a terrorist- the vast majority of us are against extremism- As people of faith, we will work together to help instead of hurt.
